Your Guide to the Web Content Assignment:
The following is part of the Web Content Assignment for Middle Years A13.
Under the "Identity & Technology" page, the first tab (after this one) is titled “The Debate” and has a wide range of articles and videos arguing in favour of, or opposing, the phenomena of “social media kids”, within the specific lens of “identity”.
It has been formatted by:
a) title
b) relevant description of the source
c) memorable quote chosen from each section
NOTE: All the titles are linked to the articles from their original websites for your convenience !
The next tab is titled “Related Media” and includes videos, comics and photos that are not necessarily for or against the idea of social media kids, but speaks to either identity or technology in a meaningful way. This background information creates the foundation which to view “The Debate”. Sometimes, a clever comic makes the point that a paragraph cannot.
The following tabs then directly answer questions that "The Debate" page addresses, but in the author's own words.
Also included is a sample lesson plan of how to incorporate the topic of identity within technology into the classroom, a personal reflection and a handy references page.
Enjoy!
